A Step-by-Step Path to Mastering the Language of the Quran

At Makkah Academy, our Arabic program is thoughtfully designed to help non-native speakers of all ages and levels develop strong skills in reading, writing, understanding, and confidently using Arabic. Our approach is gradual, comprehensive, and rooted in traditional teaching methods adapted to modern learners

A Personalized Learning Path

Our curriculum is divided into carefully designed stages that take students from the basics of letter recognition to confident reading, comprehension, and even classic grammar—at a pace tailored to their needs and goals

Why Learn Arabic with Us?

Live one-on-one classes tailored to your pace

Native Arabic-speaking teachers from Al-Azhar and other esteemed institutions

Teachers fluent in English, German, Spanish, French, and Italian

Engaging, interactive activities—not boring memorization

Programs that focus on real-life use of Arabic, not just theory

Stage 1 – The Foundation: Letters and Sounds

Students start by identifying and writing very well the Arabic letters, practicing their shapes, and correct pronunciation through interactive screen sharing and writing exercises

Stage 5 – Applying What You Learn

With guided reading sessions, students develop the ability to read sentences and short texts. Selected Quranic verses are introduced at this stage to connect learning with real-life recitation

Stage 2 – Vowel Marks & Pronunciation Skills

We introduce the short vowels and symbols (fatḥah, kasrah, ḍammah, sukoon, shaddah) to help students pronounce words easily, correctly, and confidently

Stage 6 – Meaning & Expression

Now that reading is stable, we focus on understanding vocabulary, sentence building, and basic conversation, developing the student’s ability to comprehend and express themselves in Arabic

Stage 3 – Reading Simple Words

Students begin to read short words by blending letters and vowels, building fluency and comfort with the structure of Arabic words

Stage 7 – Unlocking Arabic Grammar

For advanced learners, we explore the fundamentals of Arabic grammar (naḥw) such as noun-verb distinction, sentence structure, and understanding the deeper logic behind Arabic phrasing

Stage 4 – Expanding Reading Skills

More complex vocabulary is introduced as students practice reading longer words and begin understanding common root patterns.

Stage 8 – Recognition & Progress

Students who complete all levels receive a certificate of achievement. Those who reach advanced fluency may also qualify for ijazah-level reading with one of our certified teachers
